About the Venue
The Dean and Barbara White Community Center is Merrillville's newest large-format event space — an 84,000 sq ft facility that opened in March 2021. Named after two of Northwest Indiana's most prominent philanthropists, the building was designed for the full range of community uses, from athletics and fitness to the kind of large gatherings we cater.
The Event Center can be partitioned into up to three meeting and event spaces, with a pre-function area and three additional flex rooms that work as break-out or staging spaces. A connected outdoor patio gives receptions and cocktail hours an indoor-outdoor flow that's rare for a brand-new facility of this size.
For corporate meetings, conventions, large weddings, expos, and milestone celebrations, this venue offers modern ADA-compliant facilities, ample parking right off Broadway in the heart of Merrillville, and the kind of flexibility that smaller halls can't match.
